Ashutosh Brahmachari, who alleged sexual assault at an ashram, suffers minor injuries after being attacked by unidentified assailant on Rewa Express near SirathuPrayagraj: In a disturbing development, Ashutosh Brahmachari, who had earlier filed a complaint alleging sexual assault against Swami Avimukteswarananda Saraswati, was attacked with a razor by an unidentified person while travelling on a train on Sunday morning, police officials said.
According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident occurred when Ashutosh was travelling to Prayagraj aboard the Rewa Express.
Attack Reported Near Sirathu Station
Police officials said the attack allegedly took place as the train was approaching Sirathu.
According to a GRP officer, Ashutosh had gone to the toilet compartment of the train when an unknown individual allegedly attacked him using a razor.
The sudden assault caused minor injuries, after which railway authorities and officials were alerted.
Victim Sent for Medical Examination
Following the incident, Ashutosh was taken for treatment and medical evaluation at Calvin Hospital.
Police said the injuries sustained in the attack were not life-threatening, and doctors conducted a medical examination to document the wounds.
Officials confirmed that further legal action will depend on the medical report and the details collected during the investigation.
Police Examining CCTV Footage
Authorities have begun examining CCTV footage from the train and nearby stations in an effort to identify the attacker.
A police official stated that a formal case will be registered after reviewing the medical examination report, and investigators are working to determine the motive behind the assault.
Officials added that further legal action will be taken once the suspect is identified and the investigation progresses.
