Police arrest four accused, including a habitual offender, in the Tilak murder case near Gollahalli Gutte Maidan
Anekal: Police have arrested four accused in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old youth that took place on March 8 in the Bannerghatta area of Bengaluru.
The victim has been identified as Tilak (23), also known as Gudde, a resident of Kempanayakanahalli. According to police, Tilak was attacked with a brick and beaten with sticks, leading to his death.
Based on the investigation, Bannerghatta Police arrested four suspects — Ajay Kumar (25), Ravichandra Nayak alias Poison Ravi (24), Sanjay alias Nayibaba (26), and Mohammed Razak (24) — all residents of Kempanayakanahalli.
Murder Linked to Drunken Argument
Police sources revealed that the crime occurred near Gollahalli Gutte Maidan in the Bannerghatta region. The accused and the victim had reportedly consumed alcohol before a heated argument broke out.
Investigators said the main accused, Ajay Kumar, was already wanted in more than 30 criminal cases and frequently stayed in forest areas to evade the police.
On the day of the incident, Ajay had allegedly asked Tilak to bring food for him. However, Tilak had gone to meet his girlfriend instead. When Tilak returned, Ajay confronted him and questioned his priorities, which led to a heated exchange.
Assault Led to Death
The argument soon turned violent, and the accused allegedly attacked Tilak with a brick and sticks, resulting in fatal injuries. The police investigation revealed that the assault occurred during the confrontation following the argument.
Following the incident, police launched a search operation and successfully tracked down and arrested all four accused.
