Five-day workshop inaugurated by media industry leaders aims to equip students with hands-on exposure to evolving media technologies
Bengaluru: The Department of Electronic Media at Bangalore University inaugurated a five-day workshop titled “Media Sphere 2026: Exploring Film, Digital Media & Animation Practices” on Monday at its seminar hall, marking a significant step towards enhancing practical media education.
Focus on Emerging Media Trends
The workshop, scheduled from March 23 to 27, aims to provide students with in-depth exposure to contemporary trends in filmmaking, digital platforms, electronic media, and animation techniques. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices.
The workshop is being conducted under the guidance of Vahini Aravind, Coordinator, and Rajeshwari R., Associate Professor at the Department of Electronic Media.
Hands-On Learning for Students
The programme is expected to offer interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and expert insights, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in modern media tools and storytelling techniques.
Industry Leaders Inaugurate Event
The event was inaugurated by S. Ravikumar, Managing Director and CEO of News First Kannada. The programme was presided over by Jayakara S.M., Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University.
Deans, Syndicate members, and Academic Council representatives of the university were present as special invitees, highlighting the institutional importance of the workshop.
