Victim Identified, Shifted to Mangaluru Hospital
The injured has been identified as Ravichandra Naik, son of Anjikkar Sundar Naik. Locals rushed to the spot and assisted in shifting him to a nearby medical facility before he was later referred to a hospital in Mangaluru due to the severity of his injuries.
Police are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Bridge Lacks Protective Barricades, Say Residents
Residents of the area have alleged that the absence of proper protective barricades on the bridge has made it accident-prone. They pointed out that a similar incident had occurred earlier at the same location when an auto-rickshaw fell from the bridge after the driver reportedly lost control.
Locals have urged elected representatives and relevant department officials to take immediate corrective measures, including installing safety barriers and warning signage, to prevent further mishaps.
They warned that unless infrastructure deficiencies are addressed promptly, the risk of another serious tragedy remains high.
