Missing Minor Identified After Charred Body Found Near Ashok Vihar Metro Parking; Accused Confesses to Stone Assault and Arson, Says Police
New Delhi: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves across North West Delhi, a teenage boy who went missing on February 11 was found murdered and set ablaze near a metro station parking area in the Ashok Vihar locality. Police have arrested one accused in connection with the crime, while another suspect remains at large. Investigators say the murder was allegedly carried out to avenge the killing of a neighbour.
According to Delhi Police officials, a call was received early morning on February 12 reporting a fire in a patch of jungle near the parking area of the Ashok Vihar metro station. When officers reached the location, they discovered a charred body lying close to a wall of the parking slot, raising immediate suspicion of foul play.
The body was shifted to a hospital in Jahangirpuri for post-mortem examination. Authorities initiated identification procedures through ZIP Net alerts, wireless messages, and public notices to ascertain the deceased’s identity.

Family Identifies Missing Teen at Mortuary
The victim had left home on February 11 and did not return. When his family attempted to contact him, his mobile phone was found switched off. As concern mounted, relatives began searching for him across nearby areas and police stations.
At the Ashok Vihar police station, the family came across a photograph of an unidentified body that bore resemblance to their missing son. They later confirmed at the mortuary that the charred remains were indeed of the teenager.
In her statement to the police, the victim’s sister revealed that he had studied up to Class X and was recently released on bail from a juvenile home in connection with a murder case registered in August last year. She further stated that her brother appeared disturbed in the days leading up to his disappearance.
The sister also informed investigators that the teenager had confided in her about receiving threats from a man based in Azadpur and his associates, who had allegedly warned him of dire consequences.

One Accused Arrested, Scooter Seized
Following a tip-off, Delhi Police arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of involvement in the crime. Officials also seized a scooter allegedly used during the commission of the offence. The second accused is currently on the run, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him.
During interrogation, the arrested suspect allegedly confessed to planning the murder along with his associate. Police sources indicated that the motive was revenge for the killing of a neighbour, in which the deceased teenager was reportedly implicated.
“The teenager was assaulted with a stone during a late-night drinking session on February 11 and later set on fire. Neither of the accused has any previous criminal record,” a senior police officer stated.
Investigators believe the accused lured the teenager under the pretext of a drinking session before attacking him. The body was then allegedly set ablaze in an attempt to destroy evidence and delay identification.
The case has reignited concerns about youth crime, retaliatory violence, and the vulnerability of juveniles entangled in criminal disputes. Police have assured that further investigation is underway to uncover the full sequence of events and establish the precise circumstances leading to the murder.
Authorities are also examining call records, forensic evidence, and CCTV footage from nearby areas to strengthen the case against the accused and trace the absconding suspect.
