The accused in the Renukaswamy murder case has alleged sleepless nights and harassment by fellow inmates, prompting the court to seek a report from prison authorities

Pavithra Gowda has reportedly approached a Bengaluru court again, seeking a change of barrack at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. She alleges overcrowding, sleepless nights and harassment by foreign national inmates. The court has directed jail authorities to submit a report on her complaint.

Bengaluru: Pavithra Gowda, the prime accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has reportedly approached the court again seeking a change of barrack at Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, alleging that she is facing difficulties living in the current accommodation.

According to the recent report, Pavithra stated in her application that around 30 undertrial prisoners were housed in the barrack, making it difficult for inmates to sleep before midnight. She also alleged mental harassment by foreign national inmates and requested the judge to personally inspect the prison.

Pavithra Gowda Raises Concerns Over Jail Conditions

Pavithra had previously approached the court seeking relocation, citing concerns about her living conditions and health. On September 7, 2026, a Bengaluru court directed prison authorities to consider shifting her to a less crowded barrack, subject to availability and security requirements. The court also stressed the need to provide basic amenities and appropriate medical care.

Subsequent reports in September said she had been moved to a smaller barrack. However, the latest complaint reportedly raises fresh concerns about her accommodation and alleged harassment by fellow inmates.

Bengaluru Court Seeks Report From Prison Authorities

She has reportedly told the court that earlier requests for a barrack change did not adequately resolve her concerns. In response to the latest application, the judge directed prison authorities to submit a report on the matter.

The court’s next steps will depend on the report and the circumstances outlined in her petition. The allegations of harassment remain claims made by Gowda and have not been independently established.

Pavithra Gowda Is Accused in Renukaswamy Murder Case

Pavithra is Accused No. 1 in the 2024 murder case involving Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old man from Chitradurga. Kannada actor Darshan and several others are also accused in the case.
