Mantralaya Raghavendra Swamy Mutt Attracts Devotees

Mantralaya, located on the banks of the Tungabhadra River in Andhra Pradesh, is a pilgrimage centre associated with Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy, a 17th-century Hindu saint revered by followers of the Dvaita tradition.

The Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt houses the saint's Brindavan, which devotees regard as his sacred resting place.

According to Hindu tradition, the region is also associated with Bhakta Prahlada and his devotion to Lord Vishnu. Followers of Guru Raghavendra Swamy regard him as spiritually connected to Prahlada.

Devotees Visit Manchalamma Shrine Before Brindavan Darshan

The Mantralaya pilgrimage tradition includes a visit to the shrine of Goddess Manchalamma before devotees proceed to the main Brindavan.

The shrine is associated with local religious traditions concerning the land on which the Mutt stands. Many pilgrims also visit the Tungabhadra River as part of their pilgrimage. Some traditionally bathe or wet their hair before offering prayers at the temple complex.

The October hundi collection reflects the donations received during the reported counting period. The Mutt's figures did not include a valuation of the gold and silver in the total cash amount.
