The deceased were identified as Vijesh (36), his wife Pamita (34), and their daughter Lia (4), residents of Siddapura High School Paisari.
According to preliminary information, the family was travelling in a Santro car from Siddapura towards their home in Banangala village on Monday night when the vehicle reportedly lost control and fell into the lake.
All three occupants were trapped inside the car and died in the incident.
Kodagu Car Accident Discovered by Plantation Workers
The accident remained unnoticed until plantation workers spotted the submerged vehicle the next morning.
An inspection of the car revealed that the three family members had died. The circumstances in which the vehicle entered the water were not immediately clear.
The incident has left relatives and residents of Badaga Banangala village mourning the deaths of the couple and their young daughter.
Siddapura Police Investigate Cause of Kodagu Car Accident
After receiving information about the incident, Siddapura police reached the location and inspected the accident site. Police have begun investigating the circumstances that caused the car to leave the road and fall into the lake.
