A four-day search for 24-year-old Priyanka, who reportedly went missing after allegedly falling into the Hemavati canal, has yielded no trace so far.
A search operation has continued for four days in Hassan’s Hemavati canal after newlywed Priyanka went missing on September 19. Her family has alleged murder, while her husband’s family has denied the accusations.
Hassan: A search operation has continued in the Hemavati canal for four consecutive days following the disappearance of a newlywed woman in Hassan district. No trace of the woman or her body has been found so far, adding to concern among her family members and villagers.
Priyanka, 24, a newlywed from Kuruvanka village in Channarayapatna taluk, reportedly went missing after information emerged that she had fallen into the canal at around 9 pm on September 19.
Following the information, Channarayapatna City Police reached the spot and launched a search operation in the Hemavati canal near Chikkanayakanahalli. The search has continued for the past four days.
Family Alleges Newlywed Was Pushed Into Canal
Priyanka’s family has alleged that her husband, Rajashekar, pushed her into the canal and killed her. Her parents have also accused Rajashekar and his family of harassing her over dowry.
Based on the allegations, police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding Priyanka’s disappearance.
The family has sought answers regarding what happened to Priyanka after she reportedly went missing on September 19.
Husband’s Family Denies Murder Allegations
Rajashekar’s family has denied the allegations made by Priyanka’s parents. They have claimed that Priyanka had been in a relationship before her marriage and that the information was allegedly not disclosed to Rajashekar’s family before the wedding.
According to the family, Priyanka may have entered the canal herself. They have also expressed uncertainty over whether she died in the canal, managed to reach the shore or left the area. The competing claims have added complexity to the investigation.
Police Investigate Missing Woman Case
Police have registered a case at Channarayapatna City Police Station and are investigating the matter. The case is being examined from the angle of the allegations made by Priyanka’s family, while police are also looking into the claims made by her husband’s family.
The search operation in the Hemavati canal is continuing as authorities attempt to determine what happened to the 24-year-old woman.
