The Vijayapura Rural Police Station had received information regarding the missing persons, who were identified as a woman and five children. Investigators are now examining whether the six people found in the reservoir are the same individuals reported missing.
The Adarsh Nagar police, who visited the spot, have started an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings have led police to suspect that the six deceased belonged to the same family.

“We had come for a walk at 8 am. At that time, bodies were floating in the lake water. Then we saw them and informed the police,” he said.
According to Santosh, six bodies were found at the same location, including those of children. Police and fire brigade personnel subsequently arrived at the spot and worked to remove the bodies from the reservoir.
The local residents said they did not know the identity of the deceased at the time the bodies were discovered.
