Egypt and Qatar condemn attacks on Saudi oil facilities
In separate statements issued on Wednesday, Egypt and Qatar condemned attacks targeting oil facilities in eastern Saudi Arabia.
Egypt's Foreign Ministry described the attacks as violations of national sovereignty and international law, stating that such actions threaten regional stability and global energy security. Cairo also reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia and Jordan and backed measures taken by both countries to safeguard their sovereignty, security and critical infrastructure.
Qatar's Foreign Ministry similarly condemned the attempted drone attacks launched from Iraqi territory against Saudi oil facilities. Doha described the attacks as a violation of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and expressed support for all lawful measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security.

Iranian lawmaker reiterates position on Strait of Hormuz
Amid the regional developments, Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, said the Strait of Hormuz "belongs to Iran" and would "remain Iranian" as lawmakers review proposed legislation concerning Iran's management of the strategic waterway.
According to Iranian state media, Nikzad stated that the strait "will not return to its previous situation" and that lawmakers had submitted draft legislation on its management. He added that the proposal had received the support of members of parliament.
However, the deputy speaker did not provide details about the contents of the proposed legislation or explain how Iran's management of the Strait of Hormuz would change if the bill is approved.
