Bengaluru North City Corporation introduces a weekly Phone-In Programme to help citizens report civic issues directly to the Commissioner for faster grievance redressal


Bengaluru: In a move aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and improving civic service delivery, the Bengaluru North City Corporation has introduced a weekly Phone-In Programme that will allow residents to directly interact with the Corporation Commissioner and report civic grievances.


The initiative, announced by North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar, is designed to ensure prompt registration and resolution of public complaints through the civic administration. The first Phone-In Programme this week will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.



Bengaluru North City Corporation Phone-In Programme Every Friday

Under the new initiative, citizens residing within the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru North City Corporation can directly speak with the Commissioner regarding a wide range of civic issues affecting their localities.


The programme aims to provide residents with an accessible platform to highlight problems requiring immediate attention while enabling the Corporation to improve accountability and service delivery.

"The Phone-In Programme has been introduced to directly hear public grievances and ensure timely action through the concerned departments," the Corporation said in its press release.

Citizens Can Report Multiple Civic Issues in Bengaluru

During the scheduled Phone-In Programme, residents can raise complaints related to various municipal services, including:

  • Road potholes and road repair works
  • Maintenance of streetlights
  • Door-to-door garbage collection and waste disposal
  • Removal of dangerous trees and overhanging branches
  • Mosquito control measures
  • Stray dog management
  • Development and maintenance of parks
  • Removal of unauthorised banners and posters
  • Clearance of encroachments on footpaths
  • e-Khata-related grievances
  • Other civic administration issues

The Corporation has encouraged citizens to make use of the programme to ensure quicker identification and resolution of civic concerns.


Complaints to Be Registered on Sahaaya 2.0 Portal in Bengaluru

According to the Corporation, every complaint received during the Phone-In Programme will be immediately registered on the Sahaaya 2.0 grievance portal.


The complaints will then be forwarded to the respective departmental officers for necessary action. Once the grievance is registered, citizens will receive an SMS containing the complaint details along with information about the officer assigned to handle the issue, enabling greater transparency throughout the redressal process.
