Final preparations are underway as Lok Bhavan hosts a swearing-in ceremony with special pass arrangements for guests
Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is scheduled to be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka on June 3, with the oath-taking ceremony set to take place at 4:05 PM at the Glass House within Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru. State authorities have entered the final phase of preparations for the high-profile event, which is expected to draw political leaders, religious figures, film personalities, and distinguished guests from across the country.
The ceremony will mark a significant political transition in the state, with officials emphasizing that the event will be conducted in a simple and dignified manner without elaborate celebrations.
DK Shivakumar Swearing-In Ceremony Scheduled at Lok Bhavan
According to officials, the oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Glass House inside Lok Bhavan. Preparations are nearing completion, with administrative departments coordinating logistics, seating arrangements and security measures ahead of the high-profile event.
The Chief Minister-designate will formally assume office during the ceremony in the presence of senior leaders, government officials and invited guests.
Three-Tier Pass System Introduced for Guests
Authorities have made special arrangements for attendees by introducing a three-category pass system for entry into the venue.
Separate passes will be issued for VIPs, dignitaries and general invitees to ensure smooth crowd management and security. Organisers have also planned dedicated seating arrangements for families of political leaders, supporters and other invited guests.
Officials have advised all attendees to arrive at the venue before 2 PM to facilitate security screening and seating procedures ahead of the ceremony.

Preparations received an important boost after Thawar Chand Gehlot personally reviewed arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony.

The Governor is expected to administer the oath of office and secrecy to D.K. Shivakumar during the ceremony.
Bengaluru Police Strengthen Security Measures
In view of the high-profile gathering, Seemanth Kumar Singh has convened a meeting with senior police officials to review security and traffic arrangements.
The meeting will include Joint Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners of Police and traffic division officials. Discussions will focus on crowd control, traffic diversions, VIP movement and overall security deployment around the venue.
Authorities are expected to issue detailed traffic advisories to minimize inconvenience to commuters in Bengaluru on the day of the event.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to attract significant public and political attention as D.K. Shivakumar formally assumes leadership of the state government.
