A monkey created chaos at the Bulandshahr district court complex after snatching a bag containing nearly Rs 2 lakh and scattering currency notes from a tree
Bulandshahr: An unusual incident at the district court complex in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr left lawyers, litigants and bystanders stunned when a monkey allegedly snatched a bag containing around Rs 2 lakh and later tore it open while sitting atop a tree, causing currency notes to rain down from above.
The bizarre episode quickly drew a large crowd and has since gone viral after videos of the incident surfaced on social media.
Bulandshahr Court Monkey Incident
According to advocate Sohanpal, a man identified as Ravindra was carrying approximately Rs 2 lakh in a bag while heading to purchase stamp papers at the district court complex on Saturday.
Before he could reach his destination, a monkey suddenly grabbed the bag and climbed a nearby tree, leaving Ravindra and the other people at the scene shocked and helpless.
Currency Notes Scattered From a Tree
Witnesses said the monkey sat on a tree branch and began tearing open the bag. As it ripped through the contents, currency notes started falling from the tree, creating a dramatic scene inside the court premises.
People gathered beneath the tree and attempted to recover the scattered cash while keeping an eye on the monkey, which continued to play with the contents of the bag.
"The monkey snatched the bag and climbed the tree. Soon after, notes started falling from above, attracting a huge crowd," a witness reportedly said.
Video Goes Viral on Social Media
Videos recorded by bystanders quickly spread across social media platforms, showing people scrambling to collect the falling notes while the monkey remained perched on the tree.
The unusual incident has generated widespread attention online, with many users reacting humorously to the unexpected turn of events.
Money Recovery Efforts
Court premises staff, advocates and local residents reportedly helped recover a substantial portion of the cash scattered by the monkey. Authorities are verifying the exact amount recovered and whether any money remains missing.
While no injuries were reported, the incident briefly disrupted normal activity at the court complex and became a major talking point among visitors.
