Delhi police arrested a habitual offender after a violent late-night confrontation near Buland Masjid, leaving one resident dead

New Delhi: A 50-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death over an old enmity near a fish market in the Shastri Park area of northeast New Delhi during the early hours of Thursday, police said.

The accused, identified as 34-year-old Mohsin, has been arrested in connection with the murder. Police identified the deceased as Fakruddin, a resident of the Buland Masjid area in Shastri Park.

According to officials, police received information regarding the incident around 1.30 am, following which a team immediately rushed to the location near the fish market.

When officers arrived at the scene, Fakruddin had already been shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by his family members after sustaining multiple stab injuries. Doctors later declared him dead at the hospital.

Police Launch Investigation After Fatal Attack

Following the incident, police registered a murder case and initiated a detailed investigation. Crime branch officials and forensic teams also inspected the scene and collected evidence related to the stabbing.

During preliminary interrogation, accused Mohsin allegedly told investigators that he had an ongoing dispute with Fakruddin, which reportedly escalated into the fatal attack.

“The accused disclosed during questioning that an old dispute between them led to the stabbing incident,” a senior police officer said.

Accused Has Previous Criminal Cases

Police further revealed that verification of Mohsin’s criminal background showed his alleged involvement in seven previous criminal cases related to theft, robbery, and assault.

Officials stated that investigators are now examining the exact sequence of events, possible involvement of others, and the nature of the previous rivalry between the accused and the victim.

The murder has once again raised concerns over violent crimes linked to personal disputes in parts of northeast Delhi.

Further investigation in the case is currently underway.
