Tyre burst suspected behind the crash on Bharwain–Hoshiarpur road; returning devotees die after the vehicle falls into a deep valley and erupts in flames

Chintpurni: In a tragic accident in Himachal Pradesh, two pilgrims lost their lives after their car plunged into a deep gorge and caught fire near Chintpurni Temple in Una district.
Accident After Pilgrimage

The victims were returning after offering prayers at the temple when the incident occurred on the Bharwain Hoshiarpur road. The car reportedly bore a Ludhiana registration number, indicating the occupants were likely from Punjab.

Tyre Burst Triggers Fatal Crash
According to police, the accident is suspected to have been caused by a tyre burst while the car was being driven at high speed, leading to loss of control.
The vehicle then veered off the road, plunged into a deep gorge, and immediately caught fire.

Car Engulfed in Flames
Eyewitnesses stated that the car burst into flames moments after falling, leaving the occupants with no chance of survival. The intensity of the fire made rescue efforts extremely difficult.

Police Probe Underway
Authorities have launched an investigation to confirm the exact cause of the accident and identify the victims. Further details are awaited.
“The vehicle fell into a deep gorge and caught fire. Prima facie, a tyre burst at high speed appears to be the cause,” a police official said.
