Tensions explode as Iran warns of devastating strike capability, shuts key oil route, and escalates conflict with US and Israel
Washington: The already volatile conflict between Iran and the United States-Israel alliance has entered a dangerously intensified phase after former US President Donald Trump rejected Tehran’s peace proposal. In a dramatic escalation, Iran has now issued a chilling warning about deploying a new “devastating weapon” that it claims could leave enemy forces in shock.
Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, commander of Iran’s navy, said that a powerful new weapon is ready for deployment. Mocking US forces, he claimed the system is positioned so close that enemies “won’t even realise before it strikes,” adding sarcastically that he hopes it doesn’t cause them a “heart attack.”
He further alleged that Iran has already carried out at least seven missile operations targeting the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, effectively disrupting its air operations.
Hundreds of Strikes and Rising Retaliation Claims
Iran claims it has launched over 100 successful retaliatory waves against US and Israeli targets, signalling a significant escalation in military activity. These assertions, though not independently verified, indicate the growing intensity of the confrontation.
Hormuz Strait Shutdown Sparks Global Oil Panic
In a move that has sent shockwaves across global markets, Iran has completely shut down the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint through which nearly 20% of the world’s crude oil supply passes. This action raises fears of a global oil crisis and severe economic disruption.
Tehran has also accused the US of acting “worse than Somali pirates,” alleging that American forces have seized Iranian vessels and detained crew members.
Trump Rejects Peace Proposal, Signals Hardline Stance
