Pulikeshinagar police expose alleged pattern of coercion, sexual exploitation and blackmail targeting GST and Customs officers, second FIR filed after hospital rampage
Bengaluru: In a deeply disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through official circles, a man identified as Kripalani has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly targeting, exploiting and blackmailing multiple women officers through a calculated “love and marriage” trap.
The arrest was made by Pulikeshinagar Police Station following a complaint by a woman customs officer. During interrogation, investigators uncovered a pattern of alleged coercion and blackmail involving more than 50 victims, primarily from sensitive government departments.
Alleged Modus Operandi: ‘Rapport, Relationship, Blackmail’
According to police sources, the accused allegedly followed a systematic pattern:
- Establishing professional contact with women officers
- Building personal rapport through meetings, dinners and regular interaction
- Promising love and marriage to gain trust
- Engaging in intimate relationships
- Subsequently threatening victims using private photos or videos
Investigators say the accused allegedly used emotional manipulation and coercion, exploiting personal trust to gain control over victims.
Targeting GST and Customs Officials
Preliminary findings indicate that Kripalani specifically targeted women officers from GST and Customs departments, likely due to his awareness of departmental functioning and vulnerabilities.
Police suspect he leveraged knowledge of official processes to intimidate victims and allegedly interfere with their professional responsibilities, increasing pressure on them to comply.
Serious Criminal Charges and Expanding Probe
Authorities have registered multiple charges, including sexual assault, criminal intimidation, extortion, and cheating. Officials have indicated that more victims may come forward as the investigation progresses.
“This appears to be a systematic exploitation network. We are verifying each allegation and collecting digital and forensic evidence,” a senior police officer said.
Second FIR After Hospital Misconduct
In a shocking development, the accused allegedly created a scene during a medical examination, reportedly:
- Snatching a police officer’s mobile phone
- Verbally abusing personnel
- Issuing threats
Following the incident, another case has been registered at V.V. Puram Police Station, adding to the gravity of charges against him.
Probe Led by Senior Officer
The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of ACP Geetha of Pulikeshinagar division, with teams focusing on:
- Identifying all victims
- Recovering digital evidence
- Establishing the full extent of the alleged network
Serious Questions Over Safety and Reporting
The case has once again highlighted concerns around workplace vulnerability, misuse of trust, and underreporting of exploitation cases, particularly involving individuals in positions of responsibility.
Authorities have urged potential victims to come forward without fear, assuring confidentiality and legal protection.
