Financial argument over car purchase turns deadly; victim attacked, killed and dumped in canal with bike, three accused arrested
Indupur: In a shocking case of domestic conflict turning fatal, a man was brutally murdered by his own brother-in-law and his associates over a financial dispute related to a car purchase, just 10 months after his marriage. The incident took place near Melya in the Indupur police station limits of Andhra Pradesh.
The deceased has been identified as Vinay Kumar (37), a resident of Chikkabanavara in Bengaluru North taluk. He had married Meghana in an arranged marriage around 10 months ago. However, reports indicate that frequent arguments had erupted between the couple after marriage, particularly over financial matters.
Tension Escalates in Last 15 Days
For the past 15 days, tensions reportedly intensified over the issue of purchasing a car. Meghana allegedly told Vinay that her brother Raju would provide financial assistance and asked him to collect the money.
Following this, Vinay traveled to Melya in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday night around 9 PM to meet Raju regarding the funds.
Planned Attack and Murder
Instead of resolving the issue, the situation turned deadly. Vinay was allegedly attacked on the head by his brother-in-law Raju and his associates, leading to his death on the spot.
“The assault was deliberate and brutal, indicating a planned act,” sources revealed during the investigation.
Body Dumped in Canal With Bike
After committing the crime, the accused reportedly dumped Vinay’s body into a canal along with his motorcycle in an attempt to destroy evidence.
The incident came to light when the bike’s GPS location was traced, leading authorities to the crime scene.
Police Action and Arrests
Police have registered a case at the Indupur Police Station and have arrested three accused Raju, Venu, and Shreyas. Further investigation is underway to uncover more details.
Postmortem and Final Rites
Vinay’s body has been sent for postmortem examination and will be handed over to the family afterward. His last rites will be conducted in his native village, Appehalli in Anantapur district.
