Charred body discovered inside vehicle near Ramapur railway track; police suspect possible murder of former MLA’s son
Dharwad: In a shocking and mysterious incident, a completely burnt body was found inside a car near a railway track in Dharwad district, raising suspicions of a brutal murder.
The incident occurred near Ramapur village, where a car parked beside the railway track was discovered with a charred body inside. The condition of the body was so severe that identification has become extremely difficult.
Ex-MLA’s Son Suspected to Be Victim
Police suspect that the deceased could be Raju Bolashetty, son of former MLA Baburao Bolashetty from Bailhongal in Belagavi district. Raju had reportedly been missing since the previous day, strengthening suspicions of foul play.
Murder and Body Burning Angle
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have been killed elsewhere and later brought to the railway track, where the body was allegedly set on fire using petrol in an attempt to destroy evidence.
“We are examining all angles. Identification will be confirmed only after forensic analysis,” police officials stated.
Police and Forensic Teams at Spot
Teams from the Dharwad Rural Police rushed to the scene and began a detailed inspection. Superintendent of Police Gunjan Arya also visited the spot to oversee the investigation.
Forensic Examination Underway
Fingerprint experts and forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence and establish the identity of the deceased. Authorities have stated that only after the forensic laboratory report will a clear confirmation be made.
Car Belongs to Raju Bolashetty
While the identity of the body remains unconfirmed, sources close to the case revealed that the car belongs to Raju Bolashetty, adding weight to the murder suspicion. His friend Sridhar has also reportedly confirmed the ownership of the vehicle.
Known as Progressive Farmer
Raju Bolashetty was known as a progressive farmer and was not actively involved in politics despite his family background. Locals describe him as friendly and helpful, often supporting education for children in the village.

Police are now working to trace the sequence of events, identify possible suspects, and determine the motive behind the suspected crime.
