Explosive Complaint Filed Against Konanakunte Inspector as Victim Submits WhatsApp Chats, Audio Evidence and Alleges Life Threats
Bengaluru: A police inspector from Bengaluru has been accused of sexual harassment, sending obscene messages, and issuing death threats to a woman identified as a rowdy-sheeter. The complaint, filed with the city police commissioner, includes WhatsApp chats, call records, and audio evidence, making the case highly sensitive and potentially explosive.
The accused, Inspector Papanna of the Konanakunte Police Station, is alleged to have repeatedly contacted the woman through both official and personal mobile numbers. According to the complaint, he used inappropriate language, addressing her with words like “chinna,” “muddu,” and “bangari”, and allegedly sent obscene messages over WhatsApp.
The victim has claimed that the inspector’s behaviour crossed professional boundaries and turned into continuous harassment, leaving her distressed and fearful.
Evidence Submitted to Police Commissioner
The complainant has submitted screenshots of WhatsApp conversations and audio recordings purportedly featuring interactions between her and the inspector. These electronic pieces of evidence have been formally handed over to the Commissioner’s office, strengthening the case and prompting expectations of a detailed inquiry.
Allegations of Death Threats Intensify Case
The case took a more serious turn after the woman alleged that the inspector threatened to have her and her children killed if she made the issue public. The complaint further states that he repeatedly called her, allegedly warning that he would come to her house, escalating the intimidation.
“He threatened to eliminate me and my children if I revealed the matter,” the complainant reportedly stated in her submission.
Possible Investigation and Departmental Action
With electronic evidence already submitted, authorities are likely to treat the matter with urgency. Officials are expected to initiate a formal investigation, and strict action may follow if the allegations are substantiated. The complainant has urged the department to take stringent action against the accused officer.
Pattern of Allegations Raises Concern
This is not the first time that personnel within the Bengaluru City Police have faced allegations of misconduct. In the past, cases involving false charges against innocent citizens, extortion, and alleged involvement in illegal activities have surfaced. Incidents in areas like Whitefield and Bannerghatta had earlier made headlines, where police personnel were accused of threatening citizens and forcing online money transfers.
