Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer became the second-youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double at 19 years and 103 days old. His performance helped Memphis defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 124-103 on Thursday and continue its unbeaten start to the 2026-27 NBA season.

Portland: Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer made NBA history on Thursday, becoming the second-youngest player in league history to record a triple-double. At 19 years and 103 days old, the 2026 NBA Draft's third overall pick achieved the milestone during Memphis' 124-103 road victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Boozer finished the game with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists, recording his first NBA triple-double in his fifth career appearance. The result also extended Memphis' unbeaten run to 5-0.

The only player younger than Boozer to achieve the feat was Josh Giddey, who was 19 years and 84 days old when he recorded 17 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Dallas Mavericks on January 2, 2022.

Cameron Boozer Sets NBA Records With Triple-Double

Boozer became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double in a winning game. He also became the youngest frontcourt player to achieve the milestone.

The previous record for the youngest frontcourt player belonged to San Antonio Spurs centre Victor Wembanyama. He was 20 years and six days old when he recorded 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against the Detroit Pistons on January 10, 2024.

Boozer, who stands 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds, became the fifth teenager in NBA history to record a triple-double.

Boozer Joins Rare Group of NBA Players

Recording a triple-double within the first five NBA games is an uncommon achievement. Before Boozer, only three other players had accomplished the feat in five or fewer appearances:

  • Oscar Robertson: Achieved the feat in 1960 with the Cincinnati Royals.
  • Art Williams: Recorded a triple-double in 1967 with the San Diego Rockets.
  • Ben Simmons: Achieved the milestone in 2017 with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Boozer joined this group with his performance against Portland, adding another milestone to his first NBA season.

Memphis Grizzlies Extend Unbeaten Start to 5-0

Thursday's matchup featured two of the three teams that had remained unbeaten entering the game. Memphis secured its fifth consecutive victory, while the Houston Rockets remained the NBA's other unbeaten team.

The Grizzlies have now recorded their second 5-0 start in franchise history. Their previous start of this kind came during the 2014-15 season.

Boozer and Memphis are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 31, when they host the Sacramento Kings, who entered the matchup with an 0-5 record.
