Jaipur: A 15-year-old student was killed and several others sustained injuries after a school van carrying students of a private school collided with a stationary truck in Banswara district, Rajasthan, on Wednesday morning, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Ayan Vasunia (15), a resident of Housing Board Colony, Banswara. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
School Van Crashes Into Stationary Truck in Banswara
According to police, the school van was transporting students to a private school when it rammed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside.
The impact of the collision caused extensive damage to the front portion of the van, leaving the vehicle severely mangled.
A 15-year-old student lost his life, while more than six children sustained injuries in the collision.
Several Students Injured in the Accident
Police said more than half a dozen students suffered injuries in the crash. Emergency responders and local residents rushed to the scene and shifted the injured children to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
The condition of the injured students has not been officially disclosed.
