NIA terror conspiracy raids span multiple states, including Karnataka, as investigators intensify a nationwide crackdown on suspected terror networks

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched coordinated searches at 20 locations across several states, including Karnataka, in connection with a terror conspiracy case. Officials said the nationwide operation aims to gather evidence, identify suspects, and dismantle alleged terror networks, while specific search locations have been withheld for operational security.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday launched a large-scale nationwide operation by conducting simultaneous searches at 20 locations across multiple states, including Karnataka, in connection with an ongoing terror conspiracy case. The coordinated raids are part of the agency's continuing efforts to investigate suspected terror networks and collect evidence related to activities that could threaten national security.

Officials confirmed that the searches are being carried out across Uttar Pradesh (5), Maharashtra (3), Delhi (2), and one location each in Bihar, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, and West Bengal. While the agency has revealed the state-wise distribution of the raids, it has not yet disclosed the exact cities or addresses due to operational security considerations.

"The National Investigation Agency is conducting searches at 20 places across Uttar Pradesh (5), Maharashtra (3), Delhi (2), and one each in Bihar, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana and West Bengal in connection with a terror conspiracy case," officials said.

NIA Terror Conspiracy Raids Conducted Across 20 Locations

According to officials, the coordinated operation covers the following locations:

  • Uttar Pradesh: 5 locations
  • Maharashtra: 3 locations
  • Delhi: 2 locations
  • Bihar: 1 location
  • Rajasthan: 1 location
  • Karnataka: 1 location
  • Gujarat: 1 location
  • Telangana: 1 location
  • West Bengal: 1 location

The simultaneous searches were launched to prevent the destruction of evidence and to ensure a coordinated investigation across different states. Multiple NIA teams, supported by local law enforcement agencies, are carrying out the searches.

NIA Investigation Focuses on Terror Conspiracy Network

The ongoing operation is part of the NIA's investigation into a suspected terror conspiracy. Although officials have not disclosed the identities of the suspects or organisations under scrutiny, investigators are examining possible links between individuals allegedly involved in unlawful activities.

As part of the searches, investigators are expected to examine digital devices, mobile phones, laptops, storage media, financial records, communication documents and other materials that could provide crucial evidence in the case. Similar nationwide NIA operations in the past have resulted in the seizure of electronic evidence and documents that helped investigators trace suspected terror networks.

Officials have not yet announced whether any arrests or seizures have been made, stating that the searches are still underway.

Exact Search Locations Yet to Be Revealed

The National Investigation Agency has so far released only the number of search locations in each state. The agency has not disclosed the names of cities, districts or specific addresses where the raids are taking place.

According to officials:

  • The five searches in Uttar Pradesh are part of the broader terror conspiracy investigation, but no districts have been identified.
  • The three locations in Maharashtra have also not been disclosed publicly.
  • The two searches in Delhi remain undisclosed.
  • Similarly, the single search locations in Bihar, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana and West Bengal have not been identified.

Authorities generally withhold such details during active operations to avoid compromising the investigation and to ensure the safety of investigating teams.

Nationwide Counter-Terror Efforts Continue

The latest operation highlights India's continued focus on combating terrorism through coordinated, intelligence-based investigations. The NIA regularly conducts simultaneous searches across multiple states in cases involving suspected terror financing, radicalisation, conspiracy, and organised terror modules.

Such operations are designed to gather evidence, identify additional suspects, trace financial and communication networks, and strengthen ongoing investigations. The agency works closely with state police forces and other security agencies to execute these coordinated searches.

Officials indicated that more information regarding the searches, evidence recovered, or any arrests will be released after the operation is completed and the investigation progresses further.

More Official Details Expected Soon

The searches are currently in progress, and the National Investigation Agency is expected to issue a detailed statement after completing the operation. Additional information regarding the evidence collected, possible arrests, and the next phase of the investigation is likely to emerge through official press releases or court proceedings in the coming days.
