A newlywed man was found murdered just hours after his wedding reception in Ballari, Karnataka. The victim, Nabi Rasool, had recently married a divorced woman following a love relationship. Police have launched an investigation into the murder, including reports that the woman's family had opposed the marriage.
Ballari: A newlywed man was found murdered within hours of his wedding reception in Ballari city, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime. The victim, identified as Nabi Rasool, was allegedly killed late on Wednesday night after leaving his home following a phone call from a friend.
The incident occurred in the Batti area of Ballari. Police have registered a case at Kaul Bazaar Police Station and are investigating all possible motives, including reports of opposition to the marriage.
Ballari Newlywed Murder Case Under Investigation
According to preliminary information, Nabi Rasool had recently married a divorced woman after the two were in a relationship. Police said the couple had reportedly left together around 15 days ago before returning to Ballari a few days later.

Following discussions between the families, Rasool's relatives agreed to the marriage, and the wedding ceremony was held at his residence on July 16. A reception attended by relatives and well-wishers was also organised on the same day.
According to family members, Rasool received a call from a friend at around 11.30 pm and left the house shortly afterwards.
Body Found Near Home After Search
When Rasool did not return home by around 2 am, his parents and relatives began searching the surrounding area. During the search, they found his body approximately 700 metres from the house.
Police were immediately informed and reached the spot to begin an investigation. The body was shifted for post-mortem examination as part of the inquiry.
"The victim left home after receiving a call from a friend and was later found dead around 700 metres from his residence," police sources said.
Police Probe Reports of Opposition to Marriage
Investigators are also examining reports that the woman's family had opposed the marriage. According to preliminary information, the woman's relatives had allegedly warned Rasool before the wedding. Police are verifying these claims and investigating whether the reported opposition to the marriage has any connection with the murder.
Officials have stated that no motive has been confirmed and that all possible angles are being examined.
"Police are investigating every lead, including the reported objections to the marriage, before arriving at any conclusion," officials said.
Senior Police Officials Visit Crime Scene
Ballari Superintendent of Police Suman D. Pennekar visited the crime scene and reviewed the initial investigation.
A case has been registered at Kaul Bazaar Police Station, and investigators are collecting witness statements, technical evidence and other material connected to the case.
Police have not announced any arrests so far. The investigation remains ongoing, and further legal action will depend on the evidence gathered during the inquiry.
