Police probe suspicious death of 27-year-old IT professional at Uttarakhand homestay during stay with husband

A 27-year-old IT professional from Gurugram was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a homestay located on the Mussoorie-Dhanolti road in Uttarakhand, prompting a detailed police investigation into the incident. The case has raised serious questions after initial findings suggested unusual circumstances surrounding her death.

Mussoorie: A 27-year-old woman employed with an information technology company in Gurugram has been found dead at a homestay in the hill region of Mussoorie, triggering a full-scale investigation by local police. The deceased has been identified as P Radha Gayatri, a resident of South Delhi, who had travelled with her husband before the incident.

Authorities confirmed that the couple had checked into a homestay on the Mussoorie-Dhanolti road late on the night of June 14. The sudden death inside the accommodation has now become the subject of a detailed probe, with police awaiting post-mortem results to determine the exact cause.

Gurugram IT professional death in Mussoorie homestay raises suspicion

According to police officials, the couple had initially travelled from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13 before arriving in Mussoorie and checking into a room named “Bliss” at the Kiana Homestay in Tipridhar around 11:30 pm on June 14.

The case took a serious turn when police received information on Monday morning regarding an unresponsive woman inside the room. An emergency ambulance was immediately dispatched to the location, where a pharmacist declared her dead on arrival.

Investigators are now examining all possible angles, including medical, accidental, and circumstantial factors, as part of the ongoing inquiry.

“We were informed about an unresponsive woman at the homestay, and she was declared dead upon examination,” officials said.

Bloodstains and liquor bottles recovered from Mussoorie homestay room

During the initial inspection of the room, police reported disturbing findings that have added complexity to the investigation. The woman’s body was found on the floor, while bloodstains were also observed on the bedsheet inside the room.

Officials further confirmed the recovery of two empty liquor bottles and food items from the room, indicating that the couple had consumed alcohol before the incident.

“The body was found on the floor without clothes, and bloodstains were present on the bedsheet. Two empty liquor bottles and food items were recovered from the room,” police stated.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have prompted intensified scrutiny, with authorities carefully reconstructing the timeline of events leading up to the death.

Husband’s statement and last moments before death in Mussoorie stay

Preliminary statements suggest that the couple, originally from Visakhapatnam, had married on November 8, 2025. The husband, who works in the IT sector in Pune, told police that the couple consumed alcohol before sleeping at around 3:30 am.

He further claimed that when he woke up later, he found his wife lying unresponsive on the floor, with blood reportedly coming from her nose. These claims are currently being verified as part of the investigation.

Police have not ruled out any possibility and are awaiting forensic confirmation.

Post-mortem examination ordered in the Mussoorie death case

The body has been sent to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun for a detailed post-mortem examination. Authorities have requested that the autopsy be conducted by a panel of doctors and recorded on video to ensure transparency.

Circle Officer Manoj Aswal confirmed that the woman’s family has been informed and her parents are travelling from Visakhapatnam to Dehradun.

“The post-mortem report will provide clarity on the cause of death. Further action will depend on forensic findings,” the officer said.

Police have stated that further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and ongoing investigation findings.
