Bengaluru: The mysterious death of 34-year-old Pooja Dutta, an employee of a reputed private company in Bengaluru, has turned into a major challenge for investigators after the postmortem report reportedly failed to provide a clear cause of death. With no conclusive findings yet, police are now relying heavily on forensic examination reports, financial records, and digital evidence to uncover what exactly happened inside her rented house in Aadugodi.
According to police sources, the body of Pooja Dutta was discovered in a semi-decomposed state inside her rented residence under the jurisdiction of the Adugodi police station. The condition of the body has complicated the investigation, leaving authorities uncertain whether the woman died by suicide, suffered a medical emergency, or died under suspicious circumstances.
Postmortem Report Fails to Give Clear Cause of Death
Investigators stated that the postmortem examination did not establish a definite reason behind Pooja Dutta’s death. Due to the unclear findings, body samples have now been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for detailed examination.
Police officials are reportedly waiting for toxicology and forensic reports, which are expected to provide clarity regarding possible poisoning, medical complications, or any external factors linked to the death.
“The postmortem findings were inconclusive. Further forensic analysis is necessary to determine the exact cause of death,” sources associated with the investigation indicated.
Police Investigating Financial Background and Phone Activity
As part of the investigation, police are now closely examining Pooja Dutta’s financial transactions, bank accounts, and mobile phone records. Investigators are reportedly trying to determine how she managed her expenses during the past three months, as preliminary findings suggest she had not been actively working during that period.
Authorities are also gathering details from the human resources department of the company where she was employed to verify whether she received any settlement amount, salary dues, or financial benefits after leaving work.
In addition to banking records, police are examining her mobile search history, phone calls, and online activities to identify her final contacts and recent movements. Investigators are also checking whether she received financial assistance from friends or acquaintances.
Body Found After Neighbours Reported Foul Smell
Pooja Dutta, originally from Hirapur near Dhanbad in Jharkhand, was living alone in Bengaluru. According to police, neighbours alerted authorities after a foul smell began emanating from the rented house.
When police arrived and broke open the door, they discovered her body in a completely naked and semi-decomposed condition. Officials suspect that the death may have occurred at least two to three days before the body was found.
The unusual circumstances surrounding the case have intensified speculation, but police have maintained that no conclusion will be drawn until forensic reports are received.
FSL Report Expected to Play Crucial Role
Investigators believe the FSL findings will be critical in determining whether the case involves suicide, natural death, or any criminal angle. Police teams are continuing to collect evidence from the residence and questioning individuals connected to the victim.
