Rajasthan police uncover shocking family murder conspiracy after woman allegedly killed four relatives and staged car fire as accident
Ajmer: A horrifying murder case from Rajasthan’s Ajmer district has shocked the entire country after police uncovered that four members of a family were allegedly murdered inside their home before their bodies were placed inside an SUV and set on fire to stage a fake road accident.
In a sensational twist, investigators revealed that the alleged mastermind behind the brutal killings was none other than the first wife of the deceased man, who reportedly pretended to mourn at the family home while misleading police during the initial stages of the investigation.
The shocking crime, allegedly triggered by a long-running family and property dispute, has triggered outrage across Rajasthan and raised serious concerns over rising domestic violence-related crimes.
Burned SUV in Ajmer Initially Suspected as an Accident
The incident came to light after a completely burned Scorpio SUV was discovered on a highway near Shrirampura village, located nearly 60 kilometres from Ajmer city.
Police recovered four charred bodies from the scene, including three bodies found inside the vehicle and one body recovered from a nearby agricultural field.
The deceased were identified as:
- Ram Singh Choudhary, former village sarpanch
- Poosi Devi, mother of Ram Singh
- Suryagyana Devi, Ram Singh’s second wife
- Mahima Choudhary, a relative from the extended family
Initially, authorities suspected the deaths may have resulted from a tragic road accident. However, forensic experts and police teams later noticed multiple injury marks on the bodies, raising suspicions of foul play.
Ajmer Police Expose Brutal Murder Plot
During the investigation, forensic findings reportedly confirmed that the victims had been murdered before the vehicle was set on fire. Investigators believe the accused first killed all four victims inside the house using sharp weapons and later transported the bodies in the Scorpio SUV to destroy evidence.
The accused allegedly drove the vehicle to a remote highway stretch before setting it ablaze in an attempt to make the incident appear accidental.
The chilling nature of the crime has stunned residents of the region and intensified public debate over violent family disputes and property conflicts.
Wife Allegedly Misled Police While Pretending to Grieve
According to investigators, when police arrived at Ram Singh’s residence for questioning, his first wife, Sunita, was sitting among village women crying loudly and pretending to be devastated by the deaths.
Police sources said she allegedly attempted to mislead officers by claiming that Ram Singh had taken his mother to the hospital after she complained of chest pain.
Investigators later found several inconsistencies in her statements, which eventually led police to dig deeper into the family’s internal disputes.
Property Dispute and Family Conflict Behind Ajmer Killings
Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agarwal reportedly led the investigation team that uncovered the conspiracy.
Police found that Ram Singh had been living with both his wives in the same house, and tensions related to marriage, property division, and family disputes had been escalating for a long time.
Investigators believe a violent argument broke out late Wednesday night, after which Sunita, along with her daughter Sarita and a minor son, allegedly attacked the victims with sharp weapons and killed them.
Based on technical evidence and information gathered from villagers, police detained Sunita and her two children for questioning. Authorities are also recovering the weapons allegedly used in the murders while further investigation continues.
The brutal nature of the killings and the alleged attempt to stage the crime as an accident have left the entire village in shock.
