What was first believed to be a tragic car fire accident on NH-52 at Arbail Ghat has now turned into a chilling murder mystery involving a wanted criminal, body disposal, and multiple accused
Uttara Kannada: In a sensational breakthrough, police have revealed that the car fire death reported earlier at Arbail Ghat in Karnataka was not an accident, but a planned murder and evidence destruction case.
The victim has been identified as Nitish Dapale, a Belagavi-based criminal allegedly wanted in more than 50 criminal cases. Investigators now say he was allegedly killed by his own associates in Hubballi before his body was transported in a car and set on fire at Arbail Ghat to erase evidence.
The case has triggered intense police action, with multiple arrests already made.
From Accident to Murder: Massive Twist in Case
On April 8, a car was found engulfed in flames on National Highway 52 at Arbail Ghat. Initial reports suggested it was a road accident involving a vehicle fire.
However, after a detailed investigation, police uncovered startling evidence indicating that the incident was carefully staged.
Officials now believe Nitish was murdered elsewhere, and the burning vehicle was used to destroy the body and mislead investigators.
Victim Was ‘Most Wanted’ Criminal
Police sources said Nitish Dapale, a resident of Belagavi, had a long criminal background and was allegedly involved in over 50 cases, making him one of the region’s most wanted accused.
His criminal history is believed to be a key angle in the motive behind the murder.
Three Arrested, Hunt for Three More
A total of six accused persons have been named in the case. So far, police have arrested:
- Nayeem Moula
- Dada Peer
- Shoaib
All three are reportedly from Hubballi.
Police are now conducting an intensive manhunt for the remaining accused:
- Shanu
- Zameer
- Ayub
Yellapur Police Leading Probe
The case has been registered under the jurisdiction of Yellapur Police Station, and further investigation is underway to uncover the exact motive, sequence of events, and wider criminal links.
Authorities are also probing whether internal rivalry or past criminal disputes led to the killing.
