Shocking Assault in Azad Nagar as Woman Throws Acid Over Alleged Affair; Accused Detained, Victim Battles Severe Injuries
Kolar: In a disturbing and brutal incident reported from Azad Nagar in Kolar district, a woman allegedly carried out an acid attack on another woman over an alleged extramarital affair involving her husband. The shocking assault unfolded during a ‘compromise meeting’ convened by relatives, turning what was meant to be a resolution into a violent confrontation.
The victim, identified as Muskan, sustained severe injuries after acid was allegedly thrown on her face by Ayesha, the wife of the man at the centre of the controversy. The incident took place on Wednesday night in Kolar town, sending shockwaves across the locality.
Family Ties and Allegations
According to sources, both the accused Ayesha and the victim Muskan are relatives. Muskan is reportedly the wife of the younger brother of Ayesha’s husband, Shahbaz Ahmed. It is alleged that Muskan’s husband struggled with alcohol addiction and failed to support the family, during which Shahbaz Ahmed extended financial help.
This financial support allegedly led to the development of an illicit relationship between Shahbaz Ahmed and Muskan, sparking tensions within the family.
Elopement and Return
Reports suggest that around three months ago, Muskan and Shahbaz Ahmed had eloped and were living together in Bengaluru. They were recently traced by relatives and brought back to Kolar in an attempt to resolve the issue within the family.
Compromise Meeting Turns Violent
On Wednesday night, a ‘raji panchayat’ (informal settlement meeting) was organized at a relative’s house to address the dispute. However, the situation escalated into a heated argument.
In a shocking turn of events, Ayesha, who had allegedly come prepared, threw bathroom cleaning acid on Muskan’s face in a fit of rage.
“The attack was sudden and brutal, leaving the victim screaming in pain,” sources said, highlighting the intensity of the incident.
Police Response and Medical Emergency
Upon receiving information, Galpete police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the injured Muskan to the district hospital in their patrol vehicle. She is currently undergoing treatment for serious burn injuries.
Senior police officials, including the Superintendent of Police, visited the scene and reviewed the situation.
Accused Detained, Investigation Underway
After initially fleeing the scene, the accused Ayesha was later traced and taken into custody by the police. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the case, and further legal action is expected based on the findings.
